Third Age Learning Guelph (TALG) provides a friendly and welcoming learning environment. As such, we ask all participants to be respectful of one another and our differences. We fully understand that disagreement may occur during the discussion of certain topics, but a variety of opinions is a normal part of the learning experience.
TALG does not tolerate any behavior that is defamatory, hateful, racist, xenophobic, sexist, vulgar, obscene, threatening, insulting, offensive, and/or abusive.
This is the By-Law by which TALG conducts its affairs.
Occasionally, unforeseen circumstances may require a change of lecturer, a lecture to be rescheduled, or the cancellation of a lecture due to inclement weather or a major technological failure. Advance notice will be given by way of email and/or this website. No refunds will be made in such circumstances.
Due to copyright and intellectual property concerns, lecture content is not posted on our website, and recordings of lectures are not available.
You will require high-speed Internet to participate in the lectures. Install Zoom’s free application for Windows or Mac desktop computers (or tablets with keyboards) for the best experience. It is always good to test your application before attending a lecture.
Lecture reminders, links and technical assistance are provided by our Zoom partner, Canadian Webinar Solutions. You may also find that connecting your computer to speakers or using headphones will enhance your listening experience.
Canadian Webinar Solutions has provided this comprehensive user guide on downloading and using Zoom; we encourage you to read it.
TALG uses the services of PayPal in order to facilitate payment by credit card, and to ensure the technical, fraud prevention and banking infrastructure required for safe, secure online payments.
Please note: You do not need a personal PayPal account to use this system; you will be given options to use a PayPal account or purchase as a guest.
TALG does not receive or record your credit card information.
Dates for each registration period (opening and closing) are announced on this website and via email; late registrations are not accepted. Help is available (via email or phone to TALG) for anyone having difficulty with the registration/PayPal process.
A registration is complete and confirmed (via receipt from PayPal), once payment is received. There will be no refund, should a registrant subsequently cancel.
If our maximum capacity for registrations is reached before the planned closing date, an announcement that registration is closed will be posted on our website and sent via email. No waiting list will be maintained.
